Just about all managed IT providers should offer a few basic things, but there is quite a bit of difference between places that are proactive and those that just provide break/fix services. If you only want someone to come in and fix a computer, software program or server when it goes down, then a break/fix place is the way to go.

But most companies are in it for the long haul. They’ve invested a lot in their technology and they want it last for years. Getting a good return on their investment is important. They want to make sure their employees have the best IT resources so they can excel at their jobs. And, they don’t want to be constantly worrying about broken computers and servers. That’s no way to run a successful company and it doesn’t pay off in the long run to do business that way.
